Nikoi is a member of The Long Run.
Every year, on 17 August, we celebrate Indonesia’s Independence Day. It marks the nation’s liberation from Dutch colonial rule and is celebrated across the country with traditions, decorations and plenty of good-natured chaos.
On the island, guests are invited to join in - or observe from a safe distance - as the team takes part in a series of games and traditions. The day begins with a flag ceremony on the beach before swapping formalities for kayak races, sack races and a pillow fight suspended off the jetty.
