FAQs

  • Overall journey time from Singapore's Tanah Merah ferry terminal to Nikoi Island is approximately two and a half hours, involving a 1-hour ferry from Singapore to Bintan followed by a 1-hour car journey across Bintan and then a 20-minute speed boat ride to the island.

  • It depends on what you are looking for. If you are interested in watersports like sailing, November to February is a good time to visit. However, if you prefer snorkeling or sunbathing, March to October is ideal as it is usually the dry season with less rain. Sea turtles usually hatch between June and October, though in recent years the season has stretched even longer.

  • Nikoi is a 15-hectare private island 8km off the east coast of Bintan, Indonesia. Located less than 85km from Singapore, travel time from Tanah Merah ferry terminal is approximately two and a half hours.

  • There is complimentary WiFi with an internet connection via a microwave link to Bintan. The standard connection speed is 10mbps. If this goes down we have a backup link via the Starlink service. A 5G connection is also available via the local mobile service but you will need to buy a data package from your mobile phone operator.

  • There are 18 villas on Nikoi Island and given the variety of configurations, there are 28 rooms. We can comfortably accommodate 56 guests for a whole island booking, more in spare beds for additional charges.

  • Nikoi’s rates are for accommodation only. The daily board and transfer fees are additional and mandatory for all guests; however, you are welcome to settle these charges either in advance or upon check-out on the island. The daily board fees are S$100++ per adult per day and S$50++ per child per day. The transfer fees (to and from the ferry terminal in Bintan) are S$100++ per adult and S$53++ per child. Ferry tickets must be purchased separately through the Bintan Resorts Ferries website

  • The rates for a two night stay for two adults and two children, inclusive of daily board and return transfers from Bintan Ferry Terminal, start at S$2,130 for midweek, S$2,420 on weekends and S$2,820 over our peak periods (Singapore school holidays and public holidays).

  • Meals are included in your board rate, but drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are charged separately. Filter coffee, tea and juices at breakfast are included.

  • Nikoi is in Indonesia and you must cross immigration to reach there from Singapore. Singapore Permanent Residents can enjoy a free Visitor Stay Permit for up to three nights (proof of PR must be provided). If you require a tourist visa and are staying for six nights or less, this will cost IDR250,000 (about SGD$25). If you are staying for longer than six nights, this visa will cost IDR500,000 (about SGD$50). We recommend paying in cash upon arrival rather than in advance through the e-visa system, as the staff at the VIP arrival lounge assist with the process, eliminating queues. You can pay in IDR or SGD.

  • No - all villas and public spaces on Nikoi are designed for natural ventilation. High ceilings, sea breezes, and ceiling fans keep them cool and comfortable. Mosquito nets have also been installed around all beds.

  • Our cancellation policy is very simple: provided you cancel/modify your booking at least 21 days before your arrival, a 100% refund will be provided. No refund is provided for cancellations made less than 21 days. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance before your stay to protect you if your plans need to change.
