During their Ubah Rumah residency on Nikoi, Jennifer Teo and Veronyka Lau will collaborate on an investigation into paradise and utopia as shifting imaginaries. Working on the island and in its surrounding waters, they will explore dreams, non-linear time and ecological change. Their research will be shared through two workshops, an open studio and the creation of an artwork to be installed on the island. It will weave together community, ecology, sound, botany and visual traces of climate transformation.

Ubah Rumah is an artist residency on Nikoi Island that supports research-led creative practice rooted in place, community and environmental awareness, encouraging meaningful cultural exchange. For guests, it provides opportunities to engage with artists through talks, workshops and open studios, offering a deeper connection to the island beyond a typical stay.
